Taiwan’s unemployment rate increased in May, data from the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics showed on Monday.
The unemployment rate rose to a seasonally adjusted 4.15 percent in May from 3.71 percent in April.
On an unadjusted basis, the jobless rate grew to 4.11 in May from 3.64 percent in the prior month.
The number of unemployed persons decreased to 489,000 in May from 435,000 in the previous month.
The labor force participation rate fell marginally to 58.82 percent in May from 59.15 percent in the preceding month.
